Warlock Leveling Guide

Class – Warlock
Role – Damage
Armor – Light (Cloth)
Summons demons as servants
Emphasis on curses, drains and damage over time spells
Can consume a Soul Shard for special abilities
Uses mana as a resource

Warlocks deal Fire Shadow magic to damage, drain or curse their enemies. They can drain souls to power their spells. Warlocks can convert their health into mana or summon group members to their location.

Primary Stats – Spell Power / Intellect

Talents / Spec
Talent points become available starting at level 10. While leveling, you will only receive new powers to
Train in at even level numbers (i.e., 2, 4, 6, etc.), you will receive talent points at every level gain
starting at 10. Don’t forget to allocate those points to augment your abilities. These are very important
to the growth and development of your character. These talents may help your character with survivability,
healing output, or damage output. Read the talents carefully when decided where to spend your points. That
being said, let’s take a look at the Warlock talent tree.

Affliction – In this talent spec, a Warlock's curses are augmented to deliver the most destructive ability or to enhance with new side effects or even new curses all together.

Demonology - Much like the talent build for hunters that bolsters their pet, a Warlock's summoned demon becomes less of a pet and more of a fully imagined party member. With abilities in this tree that help to increase damage and stamina, the pet becomes vital to holding aggro when the Warlock is solo'ing and increased dps when partied for 5 man dungeons or eventually raid teams.

Destruction - The Warlock is also a caster, not just a DOT monster. This talent tree insists that the caster in each Warlock be developed. Increased direct Fire and Shadow damage make each cast work to achieve burst damage as well as DOT.

Remember, you can respec your character at any time if you decided that you don’t like where you have
started to place your talent points. It’s important to note that while you can respec at any time, the cost
increases each time you do with the first respec starting at 1 gold. Also, there are times when Blizzard
makes significant changes to talent trees for one or all classes during a patch download. When warranted by
Blizzard, all of your talent points could be refunded and you will need to take the time to re-allocate
those points.

We'll be back with more additions to the Warlock Leveling Guide soon.
